Optometrist or Ophthalmologist – Veteran Disability Assessments

We are in search of a committed Optometrist or Ophthalmologist to become a part of our team, focusing on medical evaluations for U.S. Veterans as part of the disability benefits process. This position involves conducting thorough eye examinations for Veterans, emphasizing a non-treating and non-determination role dedicated solely to assessments.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform in-person disability evaluations for U.S. Veterans.
• Examine and interpret electronic medical records through a secure online platform.
• Conduct comprehensive eye examinations, including Visual Field Testing (VFT).
• Carefully document examination results and complete necessary VA forms.

Note: This position does not include treatment or medication prescriptions. Disability decisions are made by the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), not by the provider.

Position Details:

• Schedule: Part-Time, 3-4 days per week.
• Location: In-person role.
• Caseload: Average of 4-6 Veterans per day.
• Equipment Provided: Computer and all necessary documentation tools.

Requirements:

• Possession of an active and unrestricted Optometrist or Ophthalmologist license.
• Experience with Visual Field Testing (VFT).
• Comfortable utilizing technology for record review and documentation.
