Position Overview:

We are looking for a part-time Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) to join our team!
  • Schedule: 7 AM - 7 PM, 2 days a week, with rotating weekend and holiday coverage
  • Must possess RRT Licensure in Missouri
  • Pediatric experience is preferred
  • Eligible for a sign-on bonus!

Position Summary:

This role involves assessing and providing care for patients requiring respiratory therapy. You will administer prescribed therapeutic services related to respiratory care.

Key Responsibilities and Qualifications:

Primary Duties:

  • Evaluate patients to determine the appropriate type and frequency of treatment, creating a care plan based on their diagnosis.
  • Deliver respiratory care services following specific physician orders, departmental policies, and established guidelines.
  • Implement and oversee the patient care plan and equipment, monitoring and documenting patient conditions while performing advanced respiratory care techniques.
  • Assess respiratory practices, medication administration, and treatment effectiveness based on patient outcomes.
  • Provide education to patients and their families regarding health conditions and available community support resources.
  • Assist in the care, calibration, and maintenance of all respiratory equipment, ensuring departmental inventory levels are maintained and equipment is cleaned and sterilized according to protocols.
  • Respond to medical emergencies and rapid response situations.
  • Maintain a constant state of alertness and operate in a safe manner.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Education:

  • Associate's degree in Respiratory Care or equivalent experience and education.

Experience:

  • No prior experience is necessary.

Physical Requirements:

  • Regularly use speech for effective communication.
  • Frequent standing and walking are required.
  • Occasional lifting, carrying, and pushing/pulling of objects weighing between 0-25 lbs.
  • Regular sitting, reaching, and data entry tasks.
  • Frequent visual acuity for near (20 inches or less) and far (20 feet or more) distances, including color differentiation.
  • Regularly use smell to identify odors.
  • Frequent hearing to receive verbal communication and detect alarms or machinery issues.
  • Occasional lifting of objects weighing 25-50 lbs and moving patients.
  • Occasional bending, stooping, kneeling, squatting, twisting, gripping, and repetitive movements of the legs and arms.
  • Occasional driving may be required.
  • Rarely involves crawling or running.

Required Professional Licenses and Certifications:

  • Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider (BLS HCP) - American Heart Association (AHA)
  • Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) - National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC)
  • Respiratory Care Practitioner - Missouri Division of Professional Registration
