LHH is seeking a Trucking Dispatch Specialist in Atlanta, GA. This role will support Trucking & Cross Border operations serving Air Freight, Ocean Freight, and Contract Logistics divisions. This is a highly visible, hands-on leadership role for a logistics professional who enjoys solving operational challenges, improving processes, and making a direct impact on business results.
Position Summary
The Trucking Dispatch Team Lead is responsible for leading Trucking & Cross Border activities, supporting first-mile and final-mile transportation requirements for Air Freight, Ocean Freight, and Contract Logistics operations. This individual acts as a central point of contact for truck transportation activities and ensures internal and external customer requirements are met through exceptional service and operational excellence.
This role is part of a regional team supporting multiple locations across the United States and requires collaboration with both domestic and international stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities
Operations & Dispatch Management
- Manage end-to-end trucking dispatch activities.
- Coordinate inbound and outbound transportation movements.
- Support airport, seaport, and cross-border transportation requirements.
- Manage carrier relationships and vendor performance.
- Serve as the primary transportation resource for Air, Ocean, and Contract Logistics teams.
- Optimize transportation routing and identify operational efficiencies.
- Ensure service levels are maintained while meeting customer expectations.
- Provide daily guidance and support to the trucking team.
- Lead through influence, collaboration, and process improvement.
- Develop and implement operational best practices.
- Assist with employee training and knowledge development.
- Partner with stakeholders to identify and implement process improvements.
- Present operational recommendations and improvement opportunities to leadership.
- Manage local and regional transportation providers, including:
- LTL
- FTL
- Drayage providers
- Monitor transportation KPIs and vendor performance.
- Support transportation rate negotiations.
- Ensure tariff and pricing accuracy within transportation systems.
- Maintain strong relationships with carrier partners and service providers.
- Develop operational reports using multiple data sources.
- Analyze transportation trends and identify opportunities for improvement.
- Utilize Excel to support reporting, vendor analysis, and operational decision making.
Experience
- 5+ years of trucking, dispatch, transportation, or logistics experience.
- Experience within freight forwarding strongly preferred.
- Experience supporting domestic and international transportation operations.
- Understanding of trucking operations and carrier management.
- Experience managing end-to-end transportation transactions.
- Exposure to Air Freight, Ocean Freight, or both is highly desirable
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills required.
- Experience using:
- Pivot Tables
- VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP
- Reporting and data analysis tools
- Experience with Transportation Management Systems (TMS).
- Experience with third-party logistics software is a plus.
