Job Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented Chemical Prep & Logistics Assistant for a one-year contract opportunity in Durham, NC. This role is ideal for an early-career science professional with a chemistry or lab background who is ready to support chemical sample preparation, handling, inventory, documentation, and logistics activities in a biotechnology or pharmaceutical research environment.

The Chemical Prep & Logistics Assistant will work closely with laboratory and operations teams in a structured, safety-focused setting where accuracy, reliability, and teamwork are essential. This opportunity offers valuable hands-on exposure to chemical sample workflows, good lab practices, standard operating procedures, and regulated documentation processes. Candidates who enjoy organized work, clear procedures, supportive team collaboration, and contributing to important scientific operations will be well suited for this role.

Key Responsibilities

- Pick, pack, prepare, and ship chemical samples according to department procedures and safety requirements.
- Support chemical sample preparation activities while following good lab practices and standard operating procedures.
- Assist with inventory tracking, order management, sample logistics, and related operational support.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation in accordance with department guidelines.
- Follow safe work practices, wear required PPE, and support a clean, compliant work environment.
- Communicate effectively with team members to ensure samples, inventory, and logistics tasks are completed accurately and on time.

Compensation and Benefits

- Pay rate: $20.00 per hour.
- Contract length: One year.
- Job type: Contract/Temporary.
- Interview process: One round of in-person interview.
- Additional medical screening is required.
