Payroll Clerk Our client is a large, multi-location organization seeking a Payroll Clerk to join its centralized accounting team. This position is responsible for supporting payroll operations for a sizable employee population across multiple locations. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, organized, and capable of managing payroll data in a fast-paced environment while ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies. This position is temp to hire and will pay between $23 and $28/hr. Job Responsibilities
  • Process weekly and biweekly payroll for employees across multiple locations.
  • Review and verify employee time records, attendance data, and payroll adjustments.
  • Enter and maintain payroll information, including new hires, terminations, pay rate changes, and deductions.
  • Ensure payroll calculations are accurate for wages, overtime, bonuses, commissions, and other earnings.
  • Assist with payroll tax reporting and compliance requirements.
  • Process garnishments, benefit deductions, and other payroll-related withholdings.
  • Investigate and resolve payroll discrepancies and employee payroll inquiries.
  • Maintain payroll records and supporting documentation in accordance with company policies.
  • Reconcile payroll-related accounts and assist with month-end closing activities.
  • Prepare payroll reports for management and accounting teams.
  • Support year-end payroll activities, including tax form preparation and reconciliation.
  • Collaborate with Human Resources and Accounting to ensure employee information is accurate and up to date.
Qualifications
  • Associate degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field preferred but not required.
  • 2+ years of payroll processing experience.
  • Experience handling payroll for a high-volume workforce.
  • Strong understanding of payroll regulations, tax withholdings, and wage laws.
  • Proficiency with payroll software and Microsoft Excel.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage confidential information with discretion.
  • Effective communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively across departments.

Pay Details: $23.00 to $28.00 per hour
