Job Opportunity: Family Practitioner (MD/DO)

Our organization is seeking a dedicated Family Practitioner (MD/DO) to join our dynamic clinic-based practice at the International Clinic, which is part of the Center for Global Health & Healing (CGHH) program. This full-time position includes a leadership role as Medical Director within a physician-led multispecialty group of over 650 providers.

About the International Clinic

The International Clinic focuses on addressing the healthcare needs of families and individuals who have recently settled in our community through refugee resettlement and various immigration pathways. We are committed to delivering respectful, trauma-informed, culturally sensitive, and equitable care to all families in the Treasure Valley.

Our clinic serves a diverse patient population from around the world and employs several initiatives to overcome barriers to healthcare access. These include:

  • Home visits
  • Collaboration with the Saint Alphonsus CARE Clinic (ObGyn)
  • Community Interpreter services
  • Partnerships with various community agencies

Our providers are passionate about ensuring equitable healthcare and are dedicated to enhancing the quality and accessibility of medical services for vulnerable populations. The clinic adopts an integrative care model, working closely with interpreters, social workers, health advisors, and resettlement agencies to improve continuity of care for these communities.

Location and Work Schedule

The International Clinic is conveniently situated near the Saint Alphonsus Regional Medical Center. Additional services available at this location include Ob-Gyn, Travel Medicine, and Civil Surgeon services. This position is full-time (1.0 FTE) and involves a mix of clinical responsibilities and medical directorship. The standard workweek is Monday through Friday, with practice call (phone only) shared among eligible members of the Family Medicine department (currently approximately 1:40).

  • On-site Family Medicine clinic
  • Access to community primary care and specialty clinics
  • Rotating specialty physicians from the larger healthcare system
Qualifications
  • Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathy (DO) degree
  • Successful completion of an accredited ACGME/AOA Family Medicine residency program
  • Board certification through the American Board of Family Medicine (ABFM) or American Osteopathic Board of Family Physicians (AOBFP), or the ability to obtain such certification within three years of employment
  • Eligibility for Idaho medical licensure to practice in all aspects of medicine, including valid controlled substance registration with the Idaho Boards of Pharmacy and DEA
