Join our Team at the Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center, San Francisco, CA as a Physician Assistant - Plastic Surgery!

\n

The Physician Assistant is responsible for prescribing medical treatment and providing personal care services to the veteran population. Care is based on Veterans Health Administration, and national standards and outcomes research. Duties include documenting observations, assessments, and changes in patient's condition, collaborating with medical management team members to facilitate patient care outcomes, and providing a full range of physician assistant care to patients with a variety of physical problems.

The Physician Assistant serves as a Plastic Surgery Assistant at the San Francisco VA Health Care System (SFVAHCS).

    Obtaining medical histories and performing physical examinations (H&Ps).

  • \n
  • \n

    Providing and coordinating medical care for assigned patients, in any care setting, including establishing diagnoses, formulating and implementing care plans, and providing follow-up care.

  • \n
  • \n

    Screening and evaluating outpatients to determine the need for further health care.

  • \n
  • \n

    Ordering diagnostic studies, such as Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI), Computerized Tomography (CT) and other specialized tests.

  • \n
  • \n

    Carrying out health promotion, disease prevention, and patient education activities.

  • \n
  • \n

    Ordering, prescribing and administering medications enterally and parenterally.

  • \n
  • \n

    Ordering and administering vaccines.

  • \n
  • \n

    Ordering ancillary services, including pharmacy, social services, physical medicine and rehabilitation therapies, prosthetic services, etc.

  • \n
  • \n

    Ordering VA specialty consults and initiating requests for non-VA (fee basis or community care) consults, in accordance with VHA and local facility policy and procedures.

    Additional duties as assigned.

    Expected Salary range from $129,552 to $206,755 (negotiable based on candidate's qualifications, credentials and experience).

  • \n
\n

* Work Schedule: 07:30 am to 4:00pm, Schedule will be coordinated by your supervisor.

\n

* Telework: Ad-Hoc only.

\n

* Pay: Competitive salary, annual performance bonus, regular salary increases.

\n

* Paid Time Off: 50-55 days of paid time off per year (26 days of annual leave, 13 days of sick leave, 11 paid Federal holidays per year and possible 5 days paid absence for CME).

\n

* Retirement: Traditional federal pension (5 years vesting) and federal 401K with up to 5% in contributions by VA.

\n

* Insurance: Federal health/vision/dental/term life/long-term care (many federal insurance programs can be carried into retirement).

\n

* Licensure: 1 full and unrestricted license from any US State or Territory.
