Make a meaningful difference this school year by supporting students’ growth and success in a welcoming middle school environment! Two Special Education Teachers are needed to collaborate with general education teams and foster inclusive learning for the 2024-2025 school year.

These full-time contract positions focus on guiding students in co-taught settings, engaging with small caseloads in 6th, 7th, and 8th grades. You’ll work hands-on with learners whose exceptionalities include Autism, OHI, SLD, MID, and EBD, supported by behavior plans and established routines. There is no toileting or diapering involved, and significant behavior challenges requiring intensive intervention are not part of the caseload.

Key Details:

  • Contract dates: August 5, 2024 – May 21, 2027, with onboarding July 29 and pre-planning July 31–August 4
  • Full-time, 37.5–40 hours per week; 7:45a.m. – 3:45p.m.
  • Position 1: 6th Grade Co-Teaching – Math & Science (caseload: approx. 10–12 students)
  • Position 2: 7th/8th Grade Co-Teaching – ELA & Science (caseload: approx. 10–12 students)
  • Classroom model is co-taught/inclusion, not self-contained
  • Active GaPSC SPED Consultative P-12 Teaching Endorsement required

Your Role:

  • Plan and implement IEP goals with the co-teaching team
  • Foster student engagement and provide differentiated instruction
  • Support transitions and skill development as middle schoolers adjust to new settings
  • Adapt strategies as needed to promote positive behaviors and achievement
  • Communicate clearly with families, colleagues, and support staff
