Job Description

Position Summary:

The Mechanic position is responsible to diagnose problems, perform inspections, perform vehicle maintenance and repairs on company vehicles and equipment.

\n

\n

Job Duties:

\n
    \n
  • Diagnose problems with company vehicles and equipment, including electrical issues.
  • \n
  • Change truck tires regularly.
  • \n
  • Perform vehicle inspections.
  • \n
  • Perform vehicle maintenance and repairs.
  • \n
  • Responsible for maintenance and repair of air and hydraulic brakes, engines, transmissions, steering, and suspensions.
  • \n
  • Diagnose faults and malfunctions and confirm findings with supervisor.
  • \n
  • Conduct DOT, BIT inspections, DVIR compliance and CHP compliance repairs.
  • \n
  • Keep shop, equipment, and tools in safe operating condition.
  • \n
  • Complete reports to record problems and work performed.
  • \n
  • Test and adjust units to specifications.
  • \n

Requirements:

\n
    \n
  • 3+ years of experience.
  • \n
  • Valid Driver License.
  • \n
  • General knowledge of diesel engines, air brake systems, and electrical systems.
  • \n
  • Knowledge of how to operate tools, equipment, and machinery according to prescribed safety procedures.
  • \n
  • Must be reliable, dependable, flexible, and a team player.
  • \n
  • Ability to understand and follow instructions and technical manuals.
  • \n
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • \n
  • Must be able to push/pull up to 50 lbs.
  • \n
  • \n

    Ability to work independently.

  • \n
  • \n

    Ability to use MS Office.

  • \n
  • Mechanic Certification preferred.
  • \n
  • Understanding of diagnostics software JPRO preferred.
  • \n
  • MIG Welding is a plus.
  • \n
