Apartment Maintenance Technician

Summit Skilled Solutions is currently seeking an experienced Apartment Maintenance Technician to join our team. This position is ideal for a hands-on maintenance professional with strong plumbing experience who enjoys troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining residential properties while delivering excellent service to residents and property management teams.

This role involves performing general maintenance, repairs, unit turns, and preventative maintenance throughout a multifamily residential community. Candidates should be comfortable working independently, prioritizing service requests, and participating in a rotating on-call schedule.

Apartment Maintenance Technician Key Responsibilities

• Respond to and complete maintenance service requests in a timely and efficient manner
\n
• Diagnose and repair plumbing issues, including leaks, clogged drains, toilets, sinks, faucets, and related fixtures
\n
• Perform general maintenance and repairs on apartment units and community facilities
\n
• Troubleshoot basic HVAC issues and perform minor repairs; major HVAC repairs will be handled by specialized technicians
\n
• Repair and replace appliances including refrigerators, stoves, washers, and dryers
\n
• Perform minor electrical repairs, including replacing light fixtures, switches, outlets, and bulbs
\n
• Repair locks, doors, windows, shelving, hardware, and other building components
\n
• Complete carpentry-related repairs and installations as needed
\n
• Prepare vacant units for new residents, including repairs, touch-ups, and inspections
\n
• Assist with pool maintenance and general property upkeep
\n
• Maintain a safe, clean, and professional work environment
\n
• Communicate effectively with residents, property management, and team members
\n
• Report maintenance concerns and property issues to supervisors promptly
\n
• Participate in a rotating on-call schedule approximately every three weeks, including evenings and weekends
\n

Apartment Maintenance Technician Qualifications

\n
• 13 years of maintenance experience in a multifamily residential, apartment, or property maintenance environment
\n
• Strong plumbing experience required
\n
• Knowledge of appliance repair, basic electrical systems, HVAC systems, and general building maintenance
\n
• Ability to use hand tools and power tools safely and effectively, including drills, saws, plumbing tools, and standard maintenance equipment
\n
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
\n
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
\n
• Excellent communication, organizational, and multitasking abilities
\n
• Reliable transportation and dependable attendance
\n

Apartment Maintenance Technician Physical Requirements

• Ability to frequently bend, twist, kneel, climb, reach, push, and pull
\n
• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds regularly
\n
• Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions
\n

• $23 to $24/hr BOE
