Pay: $24/hr + $150 daily per diem for days worked

Job Description We are currently seeking a skilled Ship Fitter to join our team in a naval shipyard in Jacksonville, FL. The ideal candidate will have industry knowledge and a deep understanding of shipbuilding terminology and nomenclature. The Ship Fitter must have experience working with inserts, cutting radiuses, and washing welds with an oxy-acetylene cutting torch. Additionally, the candidate should have a basic understanding of blueprints and be willing to participate in OSHA 10-hour safety training and firewatch training. Responsibilities: - Utilize industry knowledge and shipbuilding terminology to carry out ship fitting tasks- Work with inserts and cutting radiuses to fabricate and assemble components for ships- Wash welds using an oxy-acetylene cutting torch to ensure quality welds- Interpret blueprints and technical drawings to guide fabrication and repair work- Collaborate with team members to complete shipbuilding projects efficiently and accurately- Follow safety protocols and regulations to maintain a safe work environment in the naval shipyard Qualifications: - Proven experience as a Ship Fitter in a naval shipyard or maritime environment- In-depth understanding of shipbuilding terminology and nomenclature- Experience working with inserts, cutting radiuses, and oxy-acetylene cutting torches- Basic knowledge of interpreting blueprints and technical drawings- Willingness to participate in OSHA 10-hour safety training and firewatch training- Strong attention to detail, quality craftsmanship, and dedication to safety- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team

Working Days: Monday - Friday

Hours: 50+/week
