Special Education Teacher | Arlington Heights, Illinois

As a dedicated special education professional, you’ll help cultivate academic growth and social-emotional development for a caseload of 8-12 students in grades K-4. This full-time, onsite contract role spans the 2026-2027 school year, offering you the chance to make a lasting difference.

You’ll split your time between delivering direct instruction during pull-out sessions and providing exceptional push-in support within general education classrooms. Collaboration and adaptability are key in this interactive school environment.

Qualifications and Desired Experience

• Valid Professional Educator License (PEL) or comparable out-of-state certification, with willingness to obtain an Illinois PEL.
• Experience working within a resource or inclusion model, supporting both academic and social/emotional learning.
• Orton-Gillingham methodology training or certification (e.g., SLANT, Wilson, Sonday) is strongly preferred.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to adapt instruction to meet diverse needs.
• Dedication to fostering a positive, inclusive classroom culture.

Responsibilities

• Provide individualized and small-group instruction to students K-4 with learning differences.
• Support students’ academic goals and implement strategies for emotional well-being.
• Collaborate closely with classroom teachers, families, and support staff.
• Develop, implement, and monitor IEP goals.
• Document progress and participate in team meetings.
• Maintain compliance with all educational standards and confidentiality protocols.
