Occupational Therapist School Setting - Kent, WA
Job Description
An exciting opportunity is available for a skilled Occupational Therapist to support school-aged students from Pre-K through 12th grade in a dynamic educational setting near Kent, WA. This contract position runs from September 2, 2026, to June 17, 2027. You’ll work approximately 37.5 hours per week, not to exceed 40 hours, with the school day generally starting at 8:00 AM and ending around 3:30 PM; start and end times may vary based on assignments and meetings.
Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct occupational therapy services up to 950 minutes per week to a diverse student population
- Assess student needs and develop individualized treatment plans to enhance participation in school activities
- Collaborate with teachers, school staff, and families to support student progress and access to curriculum
- Document services, maintain compliance with regulatory requirements, and contribute to IEP meetings
- Adapt interventions to meet a range of cognitive, sensory, and motor needs across various age groups
- Travel between school sites within the district as needed
Desired Skills and Experience:
- Valid Occupational Therapist license for the state
- Previous experience working in a school-based or pediatric setting preferred
- Strong communication skills to interact with students, staff, and parents
- Ability to manage a diverse caseload and adapt to changes in daily assignments
- Organization and documentation skills to support compliance and effective service delivery
