Our organization is currently seeking an Associate Program Director for the Obstetrics and Gynecology residency program.

In the role of Associate Program Director, you will work closely with the Program Director, contributing to the overall leadership of the residency program.

  • Promote and sustain a nurturing and effective educational atmosphere.

  • Oversee initiatives aimed at attracting and retaining residents and faculty members.

  • Design, implement, and manage evaluation procedures.

  • Address concerns raised by residents and medical students.

  • Ensure adherence to the policies and procedures set forth by the Sponsoring Institution.

  • Applicants should possess at least 2 years of Graduate Medical Education (GME) experience.

Additionally, you will be expected to engage in clinical practice and will report to the Chief Medical Director of Women’s Health within the system.

  • Our facility features a Level I Nursery and provides Level II Maternity Care, equipped with 10 Labor, Delivery, Recovery, and Postpartum (LDRP) rooms, two fully equipped C-section operating rooms, and Maternal-Fetal Medicine (MFM) support.

  • We also offer private patient rooms, lactation assistance, Vaginal Birth After Cesarean (VBAC) services, and are in the process of establishing a Midwife program.

  • The hospital is equipped with 10 surgical suites and includes two DaVinci Surgical Systems.

  • Engage in the planning, development, organization, and medical administration of clinical programs, activities, and policies within the Obstetrics & Gynecology Department.

  • Provide administrative oversight for designated areas, focusing on clinical quality, peer review, process enhancement, and regulatory compliance.

  • Ensure compliance with relevant laws, regulations, accreditation standards, and organizational policies.

  • Collaborate with senior leadership at the hospital and within the medical group to further strategic and organizational goals.

Facility Overview

Our organization operates as a tertiary teaching facility with 240 acute care beds, situated in Lansing, Michigan, adjacent to the Michigan State University campus. We transitioned to a new, state-of-the-art hospital building on March 6, 2022. Our services include a Level III Designated Trauma Center/Emergency Department, an Orthopedic and Sports Medicine Institute, comprehensive cardiac programs, medical/surgical units, and advanced women and children’s health services, including a modern birthing center. The Karmanos Cancer Institute at our facility and an Outpatient Care Center are also located on the healthcare campus.

Our residency programs are affiliated with the Michigan State University College of Osteopathic Medicine, the Michigan State University College of Human Medicine, and the Statewide Campus System. We offer residencies in family medicine, internal medicine, orthopedic surgery, general surgery, anesthesiology, and obstetrics/gynecology. Fellowships are available in cardiology, hematology/oncology, gastroenterology, and pulmonary critical care. Additionally, we participate in city-wide residency programs in emergency medicine, neurology, urology, psychiatry, and physical rehabilitation medicine.
