This contract opportunity is ideally suited for educators passionate about fostering growth and independence among learners who benefit from specialized instruction. The position is located near Converse, TX, and begins with the students' first day on August 12, 2026. You'll be working a consistent schedule of 35 hours per week, across five days, ensuring a healthy balance and the ability to build meaningful relationships with your students.

Key Qualifications:

  • Valid teaching certification as a Generalist and Special Education Teacher (required).
  • Prior experience working in special education settings—particularly in self-contained or Life Skills classrooms—is highly valued.
  • Strong communication skills and collaborative approach with students, staff, and families.
  • Ability to create and adapt individualized lesson plans and manage a variety of learning differences.
  • Demonstrated patience, creativity, and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities:

  • Deliver tailored instruction to students with a variety of needs in a self-contained Life Skills classroom.
  • Develop and implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) and collaborate with related service providers.
  • Foster a positive, supportive, and structured classroom environment.
  • Monitor student progress, document outcomes, and communicate regularly with families.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and professional development sessions.
