Job Description
Step into an impactful role as a Special Education Teacher, supporting exceptional learners on their pathway to graduation for the 2026-2027 school year. This full-time contract position serves a select group of high school and middle school students pursuing an Occupational Course of Study (OCS) and working toward a specialized diploma. You’ll start as soon as possible, playing a key part in academic and life skills growth for these students.
In this role, you will take the lead on IEP meetings, develop individualized education plans, and coordinate closely with team members to ensure student goals are met. Your expertise will help guide four high school students and six middle school students, offering targeted instruction and advocacy as they navigate the OCS track.
Qualifications:
- Valid Special Education Teaching Certification required
- Experience working with high school and/or middle school students
- Knowledge of OCS diploma pathways and requirements
- Skilled at managing IEP meetings and documentation
- Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational abilities
- Passion for supporting diverse learners and promoting student success
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop, implement, and update IEPs in collaboration with families and staff
- Provide direct special education instruction tailored to each student’s needs
- Participate actively in OCS planning and program implementation
- Maintain accurate student records and monitor progress
- Facilitate meetings and serve as a resource for teachers and families
- Foster a supportive, respectful learning environment
