Position Overview: Director of Primary Care

The Director of Primary Care is responsible for overseeing the provision of outstanding, patient-focused care within our organization's Primary Clinics. This position guarantees adherence to HRSA standards while promoting integrated care models that cater to the medical, behavioral, and social requirements of Atlanta's most at-risk communities.

In this role, the Director will lead the Clinical Team, acting as a mentor and educator for both physicians and nurse practitioners, thereby encouraging professional development and clinical excellence. Collaboration across various departments is essential to ensure cohesive, integrated care and compliance with all health system policies, while actively supporting our organization's values of compassion and inclusion.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor the Clinical Team, fostering growth and excellence among physicians and nurse practitioners.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to enhance integrated care models that address the diverse needs of underserved populations.
• Ensure compliance with HRSA standards and organizational objectives.
• Manage budgets effectively to promote operational excellence.
• Drive process improvements and lead interdisciplinary teams.

Qualifications

• MD or DO with board certification in a primary care specialty is mandatory.
• A minimum of 7-10 years of experience in a healthcare environment, with a strong preference for FQHC experience.
• Proficiency in population health, chronic disease management, and integrated care models.

In 2012, Saint Joseph's Hospital became Emory Saint Joseph's Hospital, while our organization continued under the Saint Joseph's Health System, focusing on serving the poor.
