Job Description
Step into a rewarding contract role as a Middle School General Education Science Teacher at a well-supported site near Philadelphia, PA. This full-time position spans the 2026-2027 academic year, beginning August 24, 2026 and concluding June 10, 2027. You’ll be responsible for engaging general education middle school students, with potential collaboration alongside special education teachers when needed. All instruction takes place onsite, and the work schedule is set between 8:30AM and 4:00PM, totaling 35 supervised hours per week.
Key Qualifications:
- Holds active Pennsylvania teaching certification/licensure for assigned caseload
- Bachelor’s degree required (mandatory for emergency teaching permit eligibility)
- Previous experience in a school environment is essential
- Demonstrated expertise in subject matter, instructional practices, and resource use
- Ability to create dynamic lesson plans aligned to current state and district standards
- Strong classroom and behavior management skills
- Comfortable working in an urban educational setting
- Reliable transportation to and from the site
- Capable of securing all necessary PA clearances
- Available for the full, non-flexible schedule as no accommodations are provided
- Experience differentiating instruction and utilizing formative assessments
- Willingness to participate in a Zoom interview as part of the selection process
