Position Overview

This role involves overseeing the activities related to women's services, managing workflow, and optimizing nursing resources.

Key Responsibilities
  • Gather and assess relevant health information to create and execute personalized care plans aimed at achieving measurable outcomes for women and newborns, focusing on family-centered care.
  • Facilitate care delivery that emphasizes the needs of women, newborns, and families within your professional scope.
  • Utilize health education strategies to promote, maintain, or restore health in a safe environment.
  • Monitor progress towards achieving expected outcomes in the context of family-centered care.
  • Make ethical decisions and take actions on behalf of women, fetuses, and newborns, guided by a solid ethical framework.
  • Practice with respect to cultural diversity and inclusion principles while caring for women, newborns, and families.
  • Engage in communication and collaboration with women, families, healthcare providers, and the community to ensure safe and holistic care.
  • Act as a role model, change agent, consultant, and mentor for women, families, healthcare consumers, and fellow professionals.
  • Stay updated with current evidence-based nursing practices relevant to women, newborns, and families.
  • Integrate evidence to explore and validate interprofessional knowledge and various approaches to care.
  • Assess and enhance nursing practices for women and newborns based on evidence and quality improvement measures.
  • Evaluate personal nursing practices and contribute to the assessment of peers against professional standards and guidelines.
  • Consider resource factors such as safety, effectiveness, technology, and fiscal responsibility when planning care.
  • Ensure environmentally safe and healthy practices in care delivery.
  • Apply scientific knowledge and evidence-based practices to nursing care, tailored to the specific needs of patients.
  • Maintain a constant state of alertness and safety while performing duties.
  • Complete additional tasks as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Education: Must be a graduate from an accredited nursing program or possess equivalent educational qualifications for licensing.
  • Experience: No prior experience is necessary.
Physical Demands
  • Regularly engage in verbal communication to convey information.
  • Frequent standing and walking are required.
  • Occasional lifting, carrying, and pushing/pulling of objects weighing between 0-50 lbs.
  • Regularly sit, reach, and use a keyboard for data entry.
  • Utilize vision for near and far distances, as well as color differentiation.
  • Employ smell to identify odors and hearing to receive oral communication and detect alarms.
  • Occasional driving and rare crawling or running may be required.
Licensure and Certifications

Applicants must hold the following certifications based on their state of work location:

  • Basic Life Support HealthCare Provider (BLS HCP) - American Heart Association (AHA)
  • Registered Nurse (RN) license as per state regulations
  • Advanced Life Support (ALS) - AHA or equivalent certifications (NRP, PALS) as applicable.
Work Schedule

This position requires night shifts and is classified as an employee role.

Weekly Hours

The scheduled work hours are 36 per week.
