Director of Physician Accounting

Must-Haves:

• Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Business Management, Accounting, Finance, or a related field
• 10 years of progressive finance/accounting experience, preferably in a multi-entity healthcare environment.
• Strong analytical, leadership, and communication abilities; proficiency in financial systems, reporting tools, and healthcare finance concepts, recon, AR accounts, audit schedules.
• ERP experience: SAP, Oracle, Peoplesoft, ect.
• Understanding of gap or discrepancy in the General Ledger
• Excellent Excel ability

Plusses:

• Healthcare experience
• Master’s degree or CPA designation preferred

Day-to-Day Responsibilities:

• Financial Oversight & Reporting: Develop, manage, and implement reporting and analytics programs to track physician practice performance, practice management metrics, and industry benchmarks.
• Data-Driven Decision Support: Analyze management reporting needs, create dashboards and reports, and translate complex financial data into actionable insights for leadership and stakeholders.
• Performance Improvement: Apply root cause analysis, benchmarking, and best practices to identify and resolve negative process outcomes, improving operational effectiveness.
• Monthly Close & Accuracy: Ensure timely and accurate month-end financial close, with complete and accurate presentation of physician enterprise financial statements.
• Mentorship & Team Development: Provide guidance, training, and career development opportunities for the accounting and finance team.
• Stakeholder Communication: Clearly communicate critical financial information to senior leadership and other departments to support strategic decision-making.
• Compliance & Standards: Maintain adherence to accounting standards, regulatory requirements, and internal control policies.
