Job Description

We are seeking a Senior Agronomy Sales Representative to join our dynamic team in partnership with CHS Inc. in Colby, KS. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in agronomy sales, territory P&L ownership, supplier relationship management, and on-farm solution selling and a proven ability to grow revenue and margins, deliver precise agronomic recommendations, and build long-term customer relationships.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and manage supplier relationships to optimize regional supply economics and strategies.
  • Forecast monthly and annual supply requirements for crop inputs and services.
  • Own and manage P&L for the assigned territory, meeting sales and margin targets.
  • Increase sales through prospecting, executing sales programs, and cross-selling multiple product lines.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, vendors, and internal teams to drive repeat business.
  • Prepare and deliver sales presentations, proposals, and contracts to ensure successful transactions.
  • Create and execute innovative sales and marketing strategies that capture value and market share.
  • Collaborate with other CHS divisions to leverage enterprise relationships and opportunities.
  • Apply a structured sales cycle and provide consultative services to achieve targeted results.
  • Demonstrate effective product placement and influence within customer operations.
  • Promote and maintain a strong safety culture by following all policies and reporting hazards.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • 4+ years of sales, business development, business operations, or related experience.
  • Mathematical aptitude with ability to formulate precise fertilizer and chemical applications.
  • Experience delivering on-farm presentations and consultative recommendations.
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.

Preferred Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in agriculture, business, or related field.
  • Agronomy sales experience with cross-selling success across product lines.
  • Outside sales experience including presentations, negotiation, customer service, conflict resolution, and independent work.
  • Experience adopting and integrating new technologies and CRM software.

Training Provided:

  • Product training and CHS Sales Training.
  • National Sales certification availability.
  • Computer training on CRM software.
