Job Description
Step into a rewarding contract role supporting students as a Special Education Teacher for the upcoming academic year. Two positions are available, each offering opportunities to make a positive impact in different age groups. The assignments will be located onsite, with the new school year beginning August 3, 2026, and concluding May 28, 2027. Both roles require a full-time commitment of 37.5 hours per week.
Available Opportunities:
- Elementary/Early Childhood focus
- High School (Multi-Categorical specialization)
Key Qualifications:
- Valid Special Education teaching certification in South Carolina (or eligibility to obtain)
- Previous experience working with special needs students in elementary, early childhood, or high school settings
- Strong understanding of IEP development and progress monitoring
- Effective collaboration and communication skills with staff, families, and students
- Dedication to fostering an inclusive, supportive learning environment
Primary Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement differentiated lesson plans tailored to diverse learners
- Manage and document IEP goals, progress, and accommodations
- Work collaboratively with general education teachers, therapists, and support staff
- Foster a classroom environment conducive to engagement and growth
- Communicate regularly with families to ensure student success
- Participate in school meetings, professional development, and other team activities
