Automation Equipment Maintenance Mechanic

Location: Metro Denver, Colorado
Pay Range: $28.00 - $36.00 per hour

LHH Recruitment Solutions is seeking an Automation Equipment Maintenance Mechanic for a leading advanced manufacturing organization in the Denver area. This position is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and improving automated manufacturing equipment in a highly regulated production environment. The ideal candidate will possess strong mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and controls troubleshooting experience and will play a key role in maximizing equipment reliability, minimizing downtime, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance on automated manufacturing equipment.
  • Troubleshoot and repair complex mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and control systems.
  • Utilize PLC software and ladder logic to diagnose and resolve machine control issues.
  • Support equipment performance improvement projects and manufacturing process optimization efforts.
  • Conduct root cause analysis and implement permanent corrective actions to prevent recurring equipment failures.
  • Participate in equipment validation activities and support new equipment installations or upgrades.
  • Maintain a high level of technical expertise across manufacturing technologies, equipment, and production processes.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on reliability, efficiency, quality, and operational performance.
  • Mentor and develop less experienced maintenance technicians and mechanics.
  • Respond to equipment downtime with urgency to ensure production objectives are achieved.
  • Follow all company safety policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Minimum of 10 years of industrial maintenance experience supporting automated manufacturing equipment.
  • Advanced troubleshooting experience involving:
    • Mechanical systems
    • Electrical systems
    • Pneumatic and hydraulic systems
    • Industrial controls and automation
    • PLC-driven equipment
    • Manufacturing networks and communications systems
  • Experience using PLC software as a troubleshooting tool.
  • Ability to read and interpret complex electrical schematics, mechanical drawings, and technical documentation.
  • Proficiency with maintenance tools, instrumentation, and diagnostic equipment.
  • Strong root cause analysis and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience supporting highly automated manufacturing operations preferred.
  • Ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with operations, engineering, and maintenance teams.
  • Proficiency with computer applications, maintenance systems, and technical databases.
Preferred Experience
  • Experience supporting automated assembly, welding, testing, packaging, or other advanced manufacturing processes.
  • Exposure to RF welding, industrial automation technologies, and process validation activities.
  • Experience training, mentoring, or leading junior technicians and mechanics.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, reach, and perform repetitive tasks throughout scheduled shifts.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and move heavier materials using carts or mechanical equipment.
  • Strong manual dexterity and visual acuity, including color differentiation.
  • Ability to work in a controlled manufacturing or cleanroom environment while wearing required personal protective equipment.
  • Ability to sit or stand for extended periods during work shifts.
Compensation & Benefits

Pay range is $28.00 - $36.00 per hour, depending on experience, qualifications, skills, and market considerations. Comprehensive benefits may be available through the employer.
