Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM-4:30 PM with rotating Saturdays
Contract Length: Minimum 6 months with potential for extension



Position Overview

We are seeking a Medical Insurance & Authorization Specialist to support a busy Home Health Insurance & Authorization team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with healthcare insurance experience who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment while ensuring patients receive timely insurance verification and authorization support.



Key Responsibilities

  • Verify patient insurance eligibility and benefits through payer websites and phone calls.
  • Obtain prior authorizations according to payer guidelines and requirements.
  • Communicate with insurance companies to resolve authorization and coverage questions.
  • Document insurance and authorization information accurately within the appropriate systems.
  • Assist with medical insurance billing and collections as needed.
  • Maintain compliance with payer regulations and organizational policies.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure timely patient care and reimbursement.


Qualifications

  • Minimum 1 year of medical insurance experience required.
  • Experience verifying insurance coverage through payer portals and/or by phone.
  • Experience obtaining prior authorizations.
  • Experience with medical billing and/or insurance collections is highly preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Excellent communication and customer service abilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced healthcare environment.


Schedule

  • Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM-4:30 PM
  • Rotating Saturday coverage required
