Special Education Teacher in Hopkins, MN

Step into a rewarding contract role delivering specialized instruction and support to elementary students with a wide range of learning needs. This full-time opportunity centers on providing quality special education services in a resource room setting across multiple grade levels for the entire academic year. You’ll work closely with students to help them achieve their Individualized Education Program (IEP) goals, while also collaborating with general education teachers, support staff, and families to encourage academic, behavioral, and social success.

Key Qualifications:

• Current and valid Minnesota teaching license is required
• Previous experience supporting students with emotional and behavioral disorders
• Proficient in developing and implementing IEPs
• Strong collaboration and communication skills for working with multidisciplinary teams
• Comfortable leading a resource room with up to 22 students spanning multiple grade levels

Role Responsibilities:

• Deliver targeted special education instruction aligned with individual IEPs
• Provide direct and consultative services to students with diverse needs
• Employ effective strategies to promote positive behaviors and social skills
• Regularly assess progress and adjust instructional methods as needed
• Maintain accurate documentation to track student performance and compliance
• Partner with general education staff and related service providers
• Communicate with families to ensure coordinated support
