Position OverviewThe Louis A Johnson Clarksburg VAMC is seeking a skilled Vascular Surgeon to become part of our dedicated team. Duties & Responsibilities- Perform open and endovascular abdominal aortic aneurysm (AAA) surgical repairs.
- Conduct dialysis access procedures.
- Engage in diagnostic and interventional angiography, including mesenteric and peripheral vascular interventions.
- Execute lower extremity bypass surgeries.
- Carry out open and endovascular carotid surgeries.
- Supervise and teach surgical residents.
- Provide consultations in outpatient clinic settings and on inpatient wards.
- Oversee initial evaluations, comprehensive workups, history and physical examinations, and admissions for vascular surgery patients as necessary.
- Participate in various committees.
The work schedule is excellent, running Monday through Friday from 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM, although it may be adjusted based on the needs of the service or medical center. On-call duties will be required as needed.

- Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP): Eligible for student loan reimbursement, with specific requirements to be met within four months of appointment. Approval and award amounts (up to $200,000) are determined after a thorough review.
- Compensation: Competitive salary ranging from $300,000 to $400,000, along with annual performance bonuses and regular salary increases.
- Paid Time Off: Enjoy 50-55 days of annual paid time off, including 26 days of annual leave, 13 days of sick leave, 11 paid federal holidays, and a potential 5-day paid absence for continuing medical education (CME).

- Licensure: Must hold one full and unrestricted medical license from any U.S. state or territory.

- Contract: No physician employment contract required.
- Contract Buyout Program: This position may qualify for the Physician Contract Buyout Program, allowing for the buyout of service contracts in exchange for employment at certain rural or highly rural facilities for a minimum of four years.
