Position Overview

The Louis A Johnson Clarksburg VAMC is seeking a skilled Vascular Surgeon to become part of our dedicated team. We offer unmatched benefits that contribute to a fulfilling career experience. Duties & Responsibilities

• Perform open and endovascular abdominal aortic aneurysm (AAA) surgical repairs.
• Conduct dialysis access procedures.
• Engage in diagnostic and interventional angiography, including mesenteric and peripheral vascular interventions.
• Execute lower extremity bypass surgeries.
• Carry out open and endovascular carotid surgeries.
• Supervise and teach surgical residents.
• Provide consultations in outpatient clinic settings and on inpatient wards.
• Oversee initial evaluations, comprehensive workups, history and physical examinations, and admissions for vascular surgery patients as necessary.
• Participate in various committees.

Work Schedule

The work schedule is excellent, running Monday through Friday from 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM, although it may be adjusted based on the needs of the service or medical center. On-call duties will be required as needed.

• Contract: No physician employment contract required.
• Contract Buyout Program: This position may qualify for the Physician Contract Buyout Program, allowing for the buyout of service contracts in exchange for employment at certain rural or highly rural facilities for a minimum of four years.
