This contract-based opportunity is ideal for a licensed Occupational Therapist (OT) or an experienced Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) with a passion for school-based therapy and student development. You will play a crucial role in covering a leave, ensuring continuity of care for students and supporting faculty as a collaborative resource.

Key Qualifications:

  • Current licensure as an OT in California, or certification as a COTA with school-based experience
  • Background in providing therapy in school settings (elementary to high school)
  • Strong understanding of fine motor skill development and its impact on academic success
  • Prior experience with teletherapy platforms and virtual delivery of services is highly desirable
  • Excellent communication skills to interact with students, staff, and families
  • Proven ability to maintain thorough and timely documentation

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Deliver occupational therapy sessions to students according to IEP goals, both in-person and virtually as needed
  • Conduct assessments, develop treatment plans, and write progress reports
  • Collaborate with teachers and other support staff to integrate therapy strategies throughout the school day
  • Support and educate families regarding activities and techniques to enhance motor skills at home
  • Maintain consistent communication with administration to ensure seamless leave coverage
