Job Description

This contract opportunity begins August 26, 2026, and runs through June 16, 2027, providing you with the chance to truly support student growth over a full academic year. You will work as part of a dedicated team committed to fostering a supportive, engaging, and inclusive classroom environment.
Key Qualifications:
- Valid DSE Severe licensure required
- Experience teaching special education, specifically within severe needs programs
- Prior work with preschool to 2nd-grade students is highly valued
- Skilled in developing and implementing individualized education plans (IEPs)
- Compassionate and patient approach to students with significant medical and developmental challenges
- Strong communication and collaboration abilities with colleagues and families
Responsibilities:
- Deliver individualized and small group instruction for students with severe disabilities
- Collaborate closely with related service providers, nurses, and paraprofessionals to address complex educational and medical needs
- Monitor student progress and adapt instructional strategies accordingly
- Foster an inclusive, safe, and positive learning environment tailored to each child’s unique capabilities
- Engage in regular communication and partnership with families to support holistic progress
- Maintain detailed records and contribute actively to IEP meetings
