Job Description
Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree, active Pharmacist license, and minimum 1+ years Pharmacist experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
A healthcare facility in Milwaukee, WI is seeking two licensed pharmacists to support patient care on a 9-week contract starting August 17. This opportunity focuses on long-term care pharmacy within a dynamic and collaborative team environment.
Schedule:
- 2nd shift: 1:00 PM to 9:30 PM
- Rotating weekends
Key Responsibilities:
- Accept and dispense prescription medications in compliance with legal and regulatory standards
- Monitor patient medication adherence and identify patterns of overuse
- Maintain accurate, confidential patient and pharmacy records
- Counsel patients on medication use, potential side effects, and drug interactions
- Provide patient services such as smoking cessation support, blood pressure monitoring, and cholesterol management education
- Educate patients on proper use and handling of medical devices like blood pressure monitors and glucose meters
- Compound medications and prepare sterile solutions following established protocols
- Supervise pharmacy staff including technicians and clerks
- Maintain appropriate pharmaceutical and medical inventory
- Collaborate effectively with physicians, nurses, pharmacists, and other healthcare professionals to address drug-related issues and optimize patient outcomes
Qualifications:
- Current Wisconsin pharmacist license (in-hand)
- Experience in retail pharmacy is welcome; training will be provided
- Strong communication and supervisory skills
- Ability to maintain meticulous records and adhere to regulatory requirements
