Inpatient Pharmacist

We’re looking for an experienced Inpatient Pharmacist for a fast moving 13 week hospital contract in the Chesapeake, Virginia area. This is an excellent opportunity for pharmacists with strong acute care experience who are comfortable working in a fast paced inpatient setting and can hit the ground running.

Position Details

• 13 week contract
• Start Date: August 24
• Schedule: Rotating day, evening, and overnight shifts
• Competitive weekly pay

Responsibilities

• Verify and review medication orders
• Perform order entry and clinical verification
• Prepare and verify IV medications
• Monitor antibiotic therapy and drug interactions
• Manage pain control and patient-controlled analgesia (PCA)
• Perform anticoagulant monitoring, pharmacokinetic dosing, and renal dose adjustments
• Collaborate with physicians and the healthcare team to optimize patient care

Requirements

• Active Virginia Pharmacist license (required at time of submission)
• Minimum 1 year of recent inpatient pharmacy experience
• EPIC experience required
• Strong IV pharmacy experience
• Experience with pain-controlled analgesia (PCA), antibiotics, drug interactions, medication order entry, and order verification
• Experience with chemotherapy, anticoagulants, pharmacokinetic dosing, and renal dosing
• Previous travel pharmacy experience preferred
