School Registered Nurse (RN) in Naperville, IL

Step into a rewarding part-time contract opportunity providing dedicated 1:1 nursing care for a preschool student in the Wheaton area. This role is suited for a compassionate and experienced Registered Nurse who thrives in a supportive educational setting and has a strong background in complex pediatric care.

In this position, you'll work closely with a preschool student who requires specialized medical attention, including G-tube, trach, and ventilator support. The role involves meeting the student at their residence around 12:30 PM, accompanying them on the bus to school, remaining on-site during school hours, and accompanying them home at approximately 4:00 PM. Your schedule will follow the school calendar, Tuesday through Friday, from August 18, 2026, to May 28, 2027.

Desired Qualifications and Experience:

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Illinois
• Recent experience working with G-tube, trach, and ventilator-dependent patients
• Strong preference for candidates with a background in critical care
• Prior pediatric or school nursing experience highly valued
• Up-to-date certifications and resume required upon application
• Reliable transportation and ability to meet the student at their home
• Commitment to providing compassionate, patient-centered care in both home and classroom settings

Primary Responsibilities:

• Deliver attentive 1:1 medical care throughout the school day and bus transport
• Monitor, assess, and respond to the student’s medical needs—including operation and maintenance of G-tube, trach, and ventilator equipment
• Collaborate with educational staff and the student’s family to ensure a safe, supportive environment
• Maintain accurate and timely nursing documentation
