Special Education Teacher in Phoenixville, PA

Make a direct impact on young learners as a Special Education Teacher supporting preschool-age children in the community. This contract role offers the opportunity to work actively in various preschools, providing tailored educational services to a caseload of approximately 30 students, all with unique special education needs. Your workdays will follow a Monday through Friday schedule from 8:00 AM to 3:30 PM, averaging 35 hours weekly.

In this itinerant position, you’ll travel within the region to meet students where they are, collaborating with preschool staff and families to ensure each child receives the support they need to thrive. Comprehensive guidance and training will be provided as you begin, helping you transition smoothly into your new environment.

Qualifications:

• Active Pennsylvania certification in PK-4 and/or Special Education is required (emergency permits are not accepted)
• Previous experience working with preschool or elementary special education students is highly valued
• Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with children, families, and preschool personnel
• Ability to travel between community preschool sites as needed
• Organizational skills to manage a moderate caseload efficiently

Primary Responsibilities:

• Deliver instruction and support tailored to each student’s Individualized Education Program (IEP)
• Monitor progress and adjust teaching strategies to meet diverse needs
• Maintain organized records and effectively communicate progress to families and staff
• Adapt to varying classroom environments across multiple community preschool settings
• Participate in relevant meetings and training sessions
