Make a real impact in the lives of elementary students by supporting their academic and social growth. We're seeking passionate Special Education Teachers for contract opportunities during the 2026-2027 school year. As a key member of a resource model team, you'll work with a manageable caseload of 8-12 students in grades K-4, providing both individualized pull-out instruction and integrated push-in support within general education settings.

You’ll thrive in a collaborative educational community, bringing expertise and dedication to advancing student achievement. Your work will encompass both academic support and fostering social/emotional development. The schedule is a full-time, Monday through Friday commitment, totaling 35 hours weekly, with a 30-minute lunch break and two 15-minute unpaid breaks.

Qualifications and Preferred Experience:

  • Valid Professional Educator License (PEL) or eligibility for PEL via ISBE's Educator Licensure Information System (for out-of-state applicants)
  • Experience working with elementary students in resource and inclusive settings
  • Knowledge and skill in supporting both academics and social/emotional needs
  • Orton Gillingham certification/training, or similar structured literacy program expertise (e.g. SLANT, Wilson, Sonday) highly preferred
  • Strong communication, collaboration, and classroom management skills
  • Commitment to on-site work only

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver specialized instruction and case management for a diverse caseload
  • Provide both direct pull-out and push-in support in general education classrooms
  • Implement individualized education plans (IEPs) and monitor student progress
  • Collaborate with general education teachers, related service providers, and families
  • Foster an inclusive, respectful learning environment
