Job Description
Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree, active Pharmacist license, and minimum 1+ years Pharmacist experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
A pharmacy opportunity is available for a Staff Pharmacist to support a healthcare facility in the Burnsville, MN area on an 8-week contract basis. The role requires flexibility in scheduling, with shifts varying between 9:30 a.m. and 8:30 p.m., including weekend rotations.
Responsibilities:
- Accept and dispense prescription medications accurately.
- Monitor and manage patient medication compliance and possible over-usage.
- Ensure legal compliance in medication supply and verify prescriptions for suitability.
- Maintain confidential and precise patient records and pharmacy files.
- Provide patient counseling regarding medication usage, potential reactions, and answer related queries.
- Consult on prescription and over-the-counter medications, covering storage, dosage, side effects, and drug interactions.
- Deliver patient services including smoking cessation support, blood pressure checks, and cholesterol management.
- Educate patients on the proper use of medical devices like blood pressure monitors and glucose meters.
- Compound medications for both external and internal use, including preparation of sterile solutions following established procedures.
- Supervise pharmacy staff such as technicians and clerks to ensure efficient pharmacy operations.
- Maintain appropriate inventory levels of pharmaceutical and medical supplies.
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, pharmacists, and other healthcare providers to identify and resolve drug-related problems.
Qualifications:
- Active Minnesota pharmacist license.
- Willingness to accept and train retail pharmacists for the role.
- Flexibility to work varied shifts including weekends.
