A pharmacy opportunity is available in Washington, NC, approximately two hours east of Raleigh, offering a 13-week contract with potential to transition into a full-time role based on performance. This position requires a licensed pharmacist ready to start immediately and work a schedule of Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., with rotating weekends.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Accept and dispense prescription medications accurately and efficiently.
  • Monitor patient medication compliance and identify over-usage patterns.
  • Ensure medication supplies comply with legal requirements.
  • Verify suitability of prescribed medicines for patients.
  • Maintain confidential patient records and pharmacy files with precision.
  • Advise patients on medication usage, potential reactions, and answer their questions.
  • Provide consultations on prescription and non-prescription drugs, including storage, dosage, side effects, and drug interactions.
  • Offer patient services such as smoking cessation programs, blood pressure monitoring, and cholesterol management.
  • Educate patients on using medical devices like blood pressure monitors and glucose meters.
  • Compound medications for internal and external use, including preparing sterile solutions.
  • Supervise pharmacy staff including technicians and clerks.
  • Manage pharmaceutical and medical supply inventories.
  • Identify drug-related problems and communicate effectively with physicians and healthcare providers.
  • Collaborate with healthcare teams including physicians, nurses, pharmacists, and interns.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Current North Carolina pharmacist license in hand.
  • Retail pharmacy experience welcomed; on-the-job training available.
  • Ability to perform comprehensive pharmaceutical duties (PV1 and PV2).
