Position Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Special Education Teacher for the 2026-2027 school year. This role supports students with multiple needs, including severe/profound disabilities and autism, many of whom are nonverbal or have limited language.
Key Details:
Full-time position for the full school year
Middle School
Caseload of 8-9 students
Students with diverse, intensive needs (including autism, nonverbal/limited language)
Responsibilities:
Develop and implement individualized education programs (IEPs)
Provide differentiated instruction tailored to student needs
Collaborate with paraprofessionals and related service providers
Foster a structured, supportive, and inclusive learning environment
Monitor student progress and maintain accurate documentation
Qualifications:
Valid Illinois Special Education Teaching License (LBS-1)
Experience with self-contained classrooms and students with significant needs preferred
Strong communication and teamwork skills
Experience with autism and nonverbal learners is a plus
