Our organization is actively searching for a full-time Neonatal Nurse Practitioner who possesses extensive knowledge in perinatal and neonatal health to become a vital part of our team in Dubuque, Iowa.

The Neonatal Nurse Practitioner will be tasked with:
- Conducting assessments, evaluations, and treatments for neonates under pediatric supervision.
- Planning and evaluating medical care in collaboration with the attending pediatrician.
- Providing accurate and concise reports to the attending pediatrician, including problem-oriented documentation.
- Ordering and interpreting laboratory tests and plain x-ray films as necessary.
- Issuing appropriate orders for medications, IV therapy, parental nutrition, blood products, and managing admissions, transfers, and discharges.
- Attending high-risk deliveries, performing resuscitation, and stabilizing patients.
- Preparing infants for transport to facilities offering higher levels of care.
- Delivering newborn care, resuscitation, and stabilization for all required deliveries.
- Consulting with administrative, nursing, and medical staff as needed.
- Engaging in ongoing competency assessments to maintain advanced neonatal knowledge and skills among nursing staff.
- Participating in nursing education and competency evaluations.
- Contributing to quality improvement initiatives and the development, revision, and implementation of policies and procedures in the Birth Center.
- A minimum of two years of experience in a Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU).
- Ability to work independently, as only one Neonatal Nurse Practitioner will be scheduled per shift, covering the level II NICU, nursery rounds, attending deliveries, and performing circumcisions.
- Strong clinical knowledge, current competencies, and analytical skills to develop nursing and medical interventions.
- Excellent interpersonal skills for effective communication with patients, families, physicians, and other healthcare personnel.
