Overview:

The role involves delivering X-Ray services to patients, adhering to the student’s scope of practice.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare and position patients while selecting exposure factors under direct supervision.
  • Adhere to radiation safety and protection standards.
  • Assist supervising technologists and physicians during various imaging procedures.
  • Prepare and administer contrast media and medications in compliance with state and federal regulations.
  • Accurately position patients and select appropriate anatomical and technical parameters.
  • Help maintain a clean, safe, and organized department, including procedure rooms, storage areas, and dressing rooms.
  • Maintain a constant state of alertness and operate safely.
  • Perform additional tasks as assigned.
Qualifications:
  • Education: Currently enrolled in an accredited radiology program.
  • Experience: No prior experience is necessary.
Physical Demands:
  • Regularly stand and walk.
  • Frequently utilize vision and depth perception for both near (20 inches or less) and far (20 feet or more) distances.
  • Engage in oral communication, requiring frequent use of hearing and speech.
  • Distinguish body sounds and detect alarms or malfunctioning equipment through hearing.
  • Lift, carry, and push/pull objects weighing up to 25 lbs regularly.
  • Assist in moving patients frequently.
  • Perform data entry and keyboard tasks regularly.
  • Occasionally lift and move objects weighing between 25-50 lbs.
  • Identify and distinguish colors occasionally through vision.
  • Occasionally bend, stoop, squat, twist, and perform repetitive movements with feet/legs and hands/arms.
  • Rarely kneel or sit.
Licenses and Certifications:

Must hold a valid license or certification as required by the state of work location: Illinois, Missouri, Oklahoma, Wisconsin.

Basic Life Support HealthCare Provider (BLS HCP) certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) is required.
