LHH is looking to fill a Direct Hire Controller Job in San Diego, CA. This position is ideal for an accounting professional who enjoys balancing strategic financial leadership with day-to-day operational involvement. As the Controller, you will oversee all accounting and financial reporting activities for the North American business while leading a high-performing finance team. The anticipated salary for this role is between $125,000 and $150,000 a year.
Responsibilities:
· Oversee multi-entity financial consolidations across U.S. and Mexico operations.
· Manage manufacturing accounting activities, including inventory, standard costing, variance analysis, labor, overhead, and inventory controls.
· Direct all accounting operations, including general ledger, month-end and year-end close, and financial reporting.
· Ensure timely, accurate financial statements in accordance with IFRS and company policies.
· Lead the budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes while providing meaningful analysis to support business decisions.
· Monitor cash flow, working capital, accounts receivable, accounts payable, and banking activities.
· Develop and enhance internal controls while identifying opportunities to improve accounting processes and system efficiencies.
· Prepare financial reports, performance metrics, and presentations for executive leadership.
· Lead, mentor, and develop the accounting team through coaching, training, performance management, and career development.
Qualifications:
· Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
· 7+ years of progressive accounting and finance experience.
· Bilingual in English and Spanish required.
· Manufacturing industry experience strongly preferred.
· Experience supporting multi-location or multi-entity organizations, including U.S. and Mexico operations.
· Strong knowledge of IFRS and financial reporting requirements.
· Experience managing external audits.
· Advanced SAP experience required.
· Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
· Experience with budgeting, forecasting, financial analysis, cost accounting, and financial planning.
· Strong leadership with a collaborative, hands-on management style.
