• Schedule: Full-time, Night Shift, consisting of 3 shifts of 12 hours each per week, with rotating weekend and holiday responsibilities.
• Sign-On Bonus: Available for external qualified candidates, contingent upon a two-year service commitment.

Position Overview:

This role involves assessing and providing care for patients requiring respiratory therapy. You will administer prescribed therapeutic services related to respiratory health.

Key Responsibilities:

• Evaluate patients to determine the appropriate type and frequency of treatment, creating a tailored care plan based on their diagnosis.
• Deliver respiratory care services in alignment with physician orders, departmental policies, and established guidelines.
• Implement and oversee the patient care plan and equipment, while monitoring, documenting, and communicating the patient's condition. Perform advanced respiratory care techniques.
• Assess respiratory practices, medication administration, and treatment effectiveness based on patient outcomes.
• Provide education to patients and their families regarding health conditions and available community support resources.
• Assist in the care, calibration, and maintenance of all respiratory equipment. Help maintain departmental inventory levels for supplies and equipment, following established cleaning and sterilization protocols.
• Respond to medical emergencies and rapid response situations.
• Maintain a state of alertness and safety at all times.
• Carry out additional duties as assigned.

Educational Requirements:

• Associate's degree in Respiratory Care or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Experience:

• No prior experience is necessary.

Physical Demands:

• Regularly use speech for effective oral communication.
• Consistently stand and walk throughout the shift.
• Frequently lift, carry, push, or pull objects weighing between 0-25 lbs.
• Engage in sitting, reaching, and data entry on a keyboard regularly.
• Utilize vision and depth perception for both near (20 inches or less) and far (20 feet or more) distances, as well as color differentiation.
• Employ the sense of smell to identify and recognize odors.
• Use hearing to receive verbal communication and detect body sounds or alarms.
• Occasionally lift, carry, push, or pull objects weighing between 25-50 lbs.
• Occasionally assist in moving patients.
• Occasionally perform bending, stooping, kneeling, squatting, twisting, gripping, and repetitive movements of the legs and arms.
• Occasionally drive as part of job duties.
• Rarely engage in crawling or running.

Required Licenses and Certifications:

• Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider (BLS HCP) - American Heart Association (AHA)
• Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) - National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC)
• Respiratory Care Practitioner - Missouri Division of Professional Registration
