Travel Hospital Pharmacist in Clint, TX
Job Description
A travel retail pharmacist opportunity is available at a well-established retail pharmacy located inside a grocery store in Alamogordo, New Mexico, with secondary coverage occasionally needed at another nearby retail location. This 13-week (or longer) travel contract offers a direct client relationship without VMS involvement and requires flexibility to cover shifts at both locations, including occasional weekends.

Assignment Length: 13 weeks or longer (shorter contracts considered)
Schedule:
- Monday, Tuesday, Thursday: 9:00 AM – 6:00 PM
- Wednesday, Friday: 9:00 AM – 4:00 PM
- Closed weekends and six major holidays at the primary location
- Occasional weekend coverage possible at secondary location
Key Responsibilities:
- Accurately prepare, review, and dispense medication orders following all protocols
- Maintain precise patient medication profiles and records
- Supervise and oversee pharmacy technician activities
- Participate in medical emergency responses as part of the pharmacy team
- Conduct medication storage inspections and remove outdated medications
- Orient and train new pharmacy team members as required
- Follow strict infection control protocols within pharmacy operations
Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Active New Mexico Pharmacist License or willingness to obtain before starting
- Disclosure of all active and inactive licenses (verification required)
- Minimum one year experience as a registered pharmacist preferred
- APhA Pharmacy-Based Immunization Delivery Certification or willingness to obtain within 30 days
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or willingness to obtain within 30 days
- Ability to cover shifts at secondary retail location including occasional weekends
- Experience in retail pharmacy, preferably in a community grocery store setting
- Strong patient counseling and medication dispensing expertise
- Comfortable supervising pharmacy technicians and adaptable to multiple work sites
