Key Qualifications:

  • Valid teaching certification in Special Education
  • Experience working with high school aged students is preferred
  • Strong knowledge of IEP development and implementation
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities
  • Adaptability when supporting students with diverse learning needs
  • Patience, empathy, and a student-centered mindset
  • Organized, detail-oriented, and able to handle multiple tasks

Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct instruction to students in a resource classroom, adapting lessons to meet individual learning plans
  • Develop, maintain, and monitor IEPs to ensure student goals are met
  • Collaborate with general education teachers, counselors, and parents/guardians to foster academic success and inclusion
  • Utilize evidence-based strategies to support students’ academic and behavioral goals
  • Maintain accurate documentation and progress reports
  • Participate in IEP/504 meetings and professional development sessions
  • Provide a safe, respectful, and positive classroom environment
