Job Description
Embark on a rewarding contract opportunity supporting elementary-aged students as a Special Education Teacher in a vibrant school setting. Key Qualifications:
- Active Virginia Special Education Teacher license with certification in Adaptive or General Curriculum
- Experience or strong interest in working with elementary (K-5th) students
- Ability to adapt instructional strategies to a range of learning needs
- Proven communication and collaboration skills with students, families, and multidisciplinary teams
Responsibilities:
- Provide direct instruction and specialized support to students within assigned caseload, in both adaptive and general curriculum environments
- Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Plans (IEPs)
- Assess student progress and modify teaching strategies accordingly
- Foster a positive, inclusive, and engaging classroom climate
- Collaborate with general education teachers, paras, therapists, and administrators to coordinate services and accommodations
- Communicate regularly with parents and guardians, maintaining transparency and strong partnerships
