Key Responsibilities:

• Function as a physician specializing in Traumatic Brain Injury within the Neurology field, conducting examinations, diagnoses, and treatments for a wide range of outpatients in the clinic.
• Provide evaluations or recommendations for neurology-related issues in the referral area via phone consultations, telemedicine, and assessment of air evacuation patients as necessary.
• Prepare, write, and dictate medical summaries for medical retention boards.
• Draft or dictate physical profiles, medical evaluation boards, fitness for duty assessments, and other relevant documentation as required.
• Supervise, instruct, and collaborate with other healthcare professionals, including nurse practitioners, physician assistants, medical students, interns, residents, and fellows.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

To qualify, candidates must meet the educational and experiential criteria outlined below. Experience includes both paid and unpaid roles, such as volunteer work through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, community, student, or social). All qualifying experience, including volunteer work, will be considered. Your resume should clearly detail your relevant experience, and if qualifying through education, transcripts must be included with your application.

Basic Requirements for Physician (Neurology):

• Degree: A Doctor of Medicine, Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine, or equivalent from an accredited institution in the U.S. or Canada. Accreditation must be from recognized bodies such as the Council on Medical Education of the American Medical Association or similar organizations.
• If holding a degree from a foreign medical school, it must be equivalent to U.S. accredited programs, demonstrated by permanent certification from the Educational Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates or successful completion of the U.S. Medical Licensing Examination.
• Licensure: Candidates must hold a current, unrestricted license as a Physician from a U.S. state, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, or a U.S. territory.
• Graduate Training: At least one year of supervised clinical experience is required, which can be fulfilled through a one-year internship or the first year of a residency program in an accredited institution.

Residency Training:

Applicants must have completed an accredited residency in Neurology, along with equivalent experience totaling at least four years. Note that experience cannot substitute for the required residency training.

The salary determination process will commence after the job offer is accepted, involving the Activity Compensation Panel to establish your starting salary based on base pay and market pay.

Foreign Education:

If you are utilizing education from foreign institutions to meet qualification standards, you must provide evidence that your credentials have been evaluated by a recognized organization specializing in foreign education assessments, confirming equivalency to U.S. accredited programs.
