Step into a dynamic, supportive environment shaping the academic and social development of elementary students. A rewarding opportunity is available for passionate Special Education professionals in an engaging resource model serving grades K-4. You’ll work full-time, Monday through Friday, with a manageable caseload of 8-12 students, providing both direct instruction in a pull-out setting and inclusive support within general education classrooms. This role is designed to foster both academics and emotional growth in students requiring specialized support.

Qualifications & Desired Experience:

  • Valid Professional Educator License (PEL) in Special Education or the ability to obtain one via the ISBE Educator Licensure Information System (ELIS) if you currently hold a related out-of-state credential.
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Special Education or a related field.
  • Experience delivering academic and social/emotional interventions in elementary grades.
  • Preferred: Orton-Gillingham training or certification (such as SLANT, Wilson, or Sonday) to support literacy instruction.
  • Strong collaborative skills and flexibility working within resource and inclusion models.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) tailored to each student’s unique needs.
  • Collaborate with classroom teachers to provide differentiated instruction and push-in support.
  • Foster a positive, inclusive atmosphere that encourages academic motivation and social/emotional growth.
  • Maintain effective communication with students, families, and multidisciplinary teams.
  • Track student progress and contribute to data-driven decisions for ongoing support and interventions.
