Inpatient Pharmacist in Virginia Beach, VA

An opportunity is available for an inpatient pharmacist to support a hospital undergoing a management transition. This role requires strong clinical skills and the ability to adapt in a fast-paced environment.

Location:

• Virginia Beach, VA

Schedule/Hours:

• Day shifts: 0630 – 1500, 0730 – 1600, 0900 – 1730, 1000 – 1830
• Evening shifts: 1300 – 2130, 1430 – 2300
• Overnight shifts: 1930 – 0730, 2030 – 0730

Contract Details:

• Start Date: Monday, 8/24
• Duration: 13 weeks

Responsibilities:

• Verify and enter medication orders accurately
• Manage inpatient medication therapy, including IV medications, pain-controlled analgesia, and antibiotics
• Assess drug interactions and ensure safe administration of medications
• Support administration of chemotherapy and anticoagulants when needed (preferred)
• Perform pharmacokinetic and renal dosing calculations (preferred)
• Utilize Epic electronic medical record system for charting and documentation

Qualifications:

• MUST have a valid Virginia pharmacist license upon application submission (non-negotiable)
• Minimum of 1 year inpatient pharmacy experience required; travel pharmacy experience preferred
• Solid experience with IV medications, pain management, antibiotics, order entry, and medication verification
• Familiarity with chemo protocols, anticoagulants, pharmacokinetics, and renal dosing is a plus
• Proficient with Epic EMR system (mandatory)
