This opportunity seeks an experienced inpatient pharmacist to support a busy hospital pharmacy undergoing management transition. Working on-site in Norfolk, VA, this role requires a firm commitment to excellence, especially in a challenging environment demanding adaptability and precise clinical expertise.

Start Date: Monday, August 24
Contract Duration: 13 weeks

Shift Options Include:

  • Day: 0630–1500, 0730–1600, 0900–1730, 1000–1830
  • Evening: 1300–2130, 1430–2300
  • Overnight: 1930–0730, 2030–0730

Responsibilities:

  • Accurately verify medication orders and assist with order entry to ensure patient safety
  • Manage IV medication preparation and administration, including pain control analgesia and antibiotics
  • Monitor drug interactions and adjust dosing accordingly, with an emphasis on renal dosing and pharmacokinetic evaluations
  • Provide chemotherapy support and anticoagulant management as needed (preferred)
  • Utilize EPIC EMR system for charting and documentation in compliance with hospital protocols

Qualifications:

  • Current and valid Virginia Pharmacist license required at time of application
  • Minimum of 1 year inpatient pharmacy experience mandatory; travel experience is a plus
  • Proficiency in EPIC electronic medical records is essential and non-negotiable
  • Strong knowledge of IV therapy, pain management, antibiotics, and clinical pharmacology fundamentals
