Job Opportunity: Chief of Anesthesiology

Our organization is in search of a fellowship-trained, board-certified Anesthesiologist to fill a full-time Chief of Anesthesiology role at a local hospital. This leadership position involves managing the anesthesia department, overseeing clinical operations, staffing, and implementing quality initiatives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead a collaborative team of anesthesiologists and CRNAs.
  • Supervise anesthesia services across operating rooms, obstetrics, and endoscopy.
  • Promote quality improvement, innovation, and ensure patient safety.
  • Collaborate with surgical, nursing, and administrative leadership teams.
Qualifications
  • Board-certified Anesthesiologist with fellowship training.
  • Demonstrated leadership experience in managing anesthesia teams.
  • Experience in clinical operations, quality improvement, and strategic planning.
  • Eligibility for a New York State medical license and DEA registration.
Working Conditions
  • Onsite shifts: 44 hours per week for 44 weeks, totaling 1,936 hours annually.
  • First call shifts include:
    • 1 in 5 weekday shifts (12 hours each).
    • 1 in 5 weekend day shifts (24 hours each).
    • 1 in 6 holidays (12 hours each).
Compensation and Benefits
  • Starting and retention bonus of $100,000 (with a 2-year clawback).
  • Chief stipend of $91,520 annually for 416 hours of administrative leadership.
  • Additional compensation for excess call and onsite shifts.
  • OB call compensation.
  • Quality incentive compensation starting from the third anniversary.
