Make a difference in the lives of young learners by supporting students with severe needs in a collaborative school environment near Cambridge, MA. This contract role runs from August 26, 2026, through June 16, 2027, and offers you the chance to create a meaningful impact for preschool through second-grade students with significant disabilities and medical requirements.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to students with severe disabilities and complex medical needs
  • Adapt curriculum and instruction to ensure accessibility, growth, and success for each student
  • Collaborate with families, related service providers, and support staff to foster a team-based approach for holistic student care
  • Maintain accurate records of student progress, assessments, and behavioral strategies
  • Create a safe, nurturing, and inclusive learning environment where all students feel valued and supported
  • Provide guidance and strategies for paraprofessionals assisting within the classroom

Qualifications:

  • Active DSE Severe Massachusetts teaching license required
  • Experience working with students who have severe disabilities and medical needs, especially in early elementary grades (PK–2)
  • Strong knowledge of educational best practices and modifications for students with complex learning and health profiles
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team
  • Exceptional communication skills and a compassionate, patient approach to student engagement
