Position Overview

Job Title: Travel ED Charge Nurse

Location: Lewiston, Maine

Department: Emergency Services

Available Shifts: Day and Night

Compensation: Gross pay ranging from $1,491 to $2,067 per week, which translates to an hourly rate of $41.44 to $57.43.

Assignment Duration: 12 weeks

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee emergency department operations and nursing personnel during assigned shifts.
  • Ensure the delivery of safe, high-quality patient care while adhering to regulatory standards.
  • Manage staffing, scheduling, and patient assignments effectively.
  • Supervise, mentor, and support the development of nursing staff.
  • Assist with performance evaluations and HR-related tasks.
  • Monitor supplies, equipment, and overall unit readiness.
  • Coordinate patient flow, including admissions, transfers, and discharges.
  • Address patient care issues and escalate concerns as necessary.
  • Engage with patients and families to foster a positive experience.
  • Provide direct patient care as needed to ensure adequate staffing levels.
Qualifications
  • Valid and current state RN License
  • Current BLS certification (AHA) upon hire and must be maintained
  • Current ACLS certification (AHA) upon hire and must be maintained
  • At least one year of experience as a staff nurse in an acute care hospital, specifically in the emergency department
  • PALS certification (AHA) upon hire and must be maintained
  • Previous supervisory experience is required
